'Country Life's Centenary Garden'
: Gold Medal Award
Lawrence Johnston's garden at Hidcote Manor in the Cotswolds inspired this delightful garden by Rupert Golby. As you would expect from a Country Life, the garden was an exuberant celebration of all things English. The craftsmanship was evident throughout and no expense was spared to achieve a perfect result. The garden used and featured some of the country's leading Artisans. It was a unique honour that Jeremy and his build team were entrusted with such a high profile and magnificent project.

'Secret Weir Garden' : Gold Medal Award
Widely recognised as one of the most audacious build projects ever seen at an RHS Show, the Secret Weir Garden was capable of re-circulating 2.7 million litres of water per day. The spectacular curtains of water had the sort of velocity more commonly associated with a river in flood. A custom made oak pavilion provided shelter and traditional build methods were used throughout the entire garden. Having designed and built three consecutive gold medal winning gardens for Pantiles, Jeremy Salt and Laurence Maunder moved on to pastures new, however, their last collaboration was the 'Underwater Garden' which was built in their absence in 1998 and achieved not only gold but 'Best in Show at the Hampton Court Palace Flower Show'. |
